I am so excited to be spending my second year at Valley View as the Reading Coach!  My previous experience was in 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades in Hamilton County inner city schools.  As Reading Coach, my job is to provide instructional reading support to teachers and to evaluate students to plan their reading instruction.  In addition, I provide reading intervention to small groups of students. 

Our Valley View Reading Team includes three other people in addition to me.  Becky Garner is our Reading Support Specialist.  Glenda Ledford and Shelia Presswood are part time Reading Interventionists. All three of these ladies are highly qualified and work with small groups of students for additional reading instruction.

Assisting children who are having difficulties with reading is a passion for me.  I have spent many hours training in the different practices of reading instruction and am fortunate to be in a position where I can provide reading support for the students and teachers at Valley View.
