2008 - 2009 Accelerated Reading Theme"The Great Outdoors"The following are the AR events scheduled for this year. Tickets are available starting now for any and all of the events. Pick your favorite and purchase a ticket with your AR points.
OCTOBER 24 - FARM DAY Dress up in farm clothes. Each class has a time slot to attend and participate in an outdoor hayride, horseshoes, games, etc... And you may choose to purchase a ticket for the petting zoo or pony rides.
EXTRA EXTRA - HELP SHAVE COACH'S HEAD - TOP FIVE STUDENTS IN AR BY FARM DAY WILL GET TO TAKE TURNS SHAVING COACH BALD!! DECEMBER 12 - TEACHERS VS. STUDENTS WIFFLE GAME Each teacher will set a classroom goal for the number of AR points needed to play. All students reaching the classroom goal will have their names placed in a drawing. One student from each classroom will be picked to play in the Wiffle ball game against the teachers. All students will be allowed to watch the game. JANUARY 30 - INDOOR ADVENTURE DAY Blowups to play on. Winter Olympic competition games in the gym. Each class gets a time slot to come and play. School-wide Goal of 12,000. MARCH 2 - DR. SEUSS DAY April 24 (after TCAP) - FISHING AND COOKOUT Event will be held a Mrs. Cameron's parent's pond. First 4 per class to buy a ticket:
MAY 8 - WATER DAY - SCHOOL-WIDE GOAL 25,000 POINTS 18 foot blow up water slides and other fun. This will take place on the other half of Field Day. Read, read, read, read, read, read, read, read, read! READING IS GREAT FUN!! |
